Bevor ich einen kleinen Urlaub in Hamburg mache nächste Woche, zeige ich Euch hier nochmal die Highlights der letzten Wochen:
/ Before I go on vacation in Hamburg next week, I'd like to show you the highlights of the last weeks:


Beim Zeltfestival haben Mark, Daniel und ich vor Selig das Publikum auf dem Piazza angeheizt. Viele Wespen, viele freundliche Gesichter.
/ At the Zeltfestival Mark, Daniel and me performed before German group Selig on the Piazza. Lots of wasps, lots of genuine friendly faces.


Die Bühne beim Bochumer Musiksommer war für 4 Mann ziemlich groß ausgefallen, aber bei viel Publikum hielt sich das dann wieder die Waage.
/ The stage at the Bochumer Musiksommer was quite big, I can tell you, but there was a huge audience, too. So everything was fine.


Beim Projekt "Sozialpalast" wurde mein Gesicht von außen auf den Wohnwagen gebeamt, was in erster Linie mal eine wunderschöne Konzertatmosphäre erzeugt hat.
/ The project "Sozialpalast" included my performance being beamed onto the mobile home which created a the most beautiful atmosphere that evening.


Egal, der Bochumer Polizei war das ganze künstlerische Gehabe zu abstrakt und laut, also wurde um kurz vor 23h der Saft abgedreht. Spießer statt Genießer.
/ Anyway, the police of Bochum has no taste in art and music, so they decided to turn off the power around 11 pm. I don't even know how to translate the last German sentence :-)

Ich bin weg bis zum 14.09., also haut rein und hört meine Musik!
/ I will be gone till zu 14th of september, so party on and listen to my music!

Es ist Zeit mal einen kleinen Rückblick zu wagen:
Seit über 10 Jahren schriebe ich Songs, die mir selber gefallen. Immer in der Hoffnung, dass die auch anderen gefallen. In mehreren Bands habe ich inzwischen bestimmt 1 Milliarde oder mehr Konzerte gespielt.

Trotzdem musste ich mein eigenes Label gründen, um überhaupt ein Album in die Läden zu kriegen, da gewisse A&Rs von gewissen Plattenfirmen nicht gemerkt haben, worum es geht. Sprichwörtlich habe ich Blut, Schweiß und Tränen in meine Musik investiert.

Mit Freude kündige ich daher an, dass das Bochumer Label Roof Music sich entschieden hat, mein nächstes Album rauszubringen. Neben so schillernden Künstlern wie Helge Schneider und Toni Mahoni sitze nun ich im selben Boot, und das scheint recht seetauglich zu sein.

Staunt also alle wenn es heißt:
Die erste Single aus dem Album "Poet der Affen / Poet of the Apes" erscheint am 02.10.2009 und trägt den Titel "Halt' alle Uhren an / Stop the Clocks". Seht Euch einfach die beiden Videos unter der englischen Blogversion an, dann wisst Ihr, was mir wichtig ist.

Today it's time to think about the past:
For over 10 years, I have been trying to write songs that reflect what I feel about certain things, hoping that some people might even enjoy the music as well. I used to be in different bands and it feels like I have had over 1 billion gigs over the years.

Still I had to found my own record label to release an album to the world. Just because some stupid A&Rs of some stupid record companies didn't see the whole thing. Literally, I have invested some blood, sweat and tears.

But now I can announce, that one of Germany's most renowned labels, Roof Music, decided to release my new album. Next to colourful artists like Helge Schneider or Toni Mahoni I will sail the music business sea in a boat which seems to be very seagoing.
(dear English readers: I really had to look up the word seagoing in a dictionary :-))

So be amazed when I say:
The first single from the new album "Poet der Affen / Poet of the Apes" will be released on the 2nd of october 2010. Just take a look at the two videos below this text and you will know what it's all about.
